Well, a bunch of us are making the transition from Mafia Wars to Mob Wars. I made a little video walkthrough for my friends hoping that it would help them make the transition. It is also available in two parts on YouTube, or hosted in HD here at ESAD Marketing…

I think I finally know what ‘Epic Win’ means…;)

It's the Tree of the Wildwood Business Association.

Wildwood Business Association Logo

What a crazy fun 24 hours…whew.

Last night I had the privilege of speaking to my fellow members in the Wildwood Business Association about an opportunity for them to become the leading-edge social-network-maximized community association in the St. Louis area – by implementing the ESAD Marekting Web Program. I basically gave them my sales spiel and pitched a normal ESAD Marketing Web Presence – a 20th-Century static website backed with an ESAD-integrated set of 21st-Century technology that saturates the indexes, search engines, and social networks with content – their content.

Good, high-quality content of benefit to all people within their community. Very cool stuff.

They are a very modest-sized and progressive community association with very low annual dues that just slams their members with unique advertising and promotion opportunities whenever possible. They’ve managed to co-market their association and its members with several other community events…just very cool stuff. As a member, I’ve seen their P&L.
I knew they needed our help, everyone in the Midwest needs to know about what’s going on down in Wildwood.

I had met with the former President (now co-Marketing Chair) Tim Ward and Katie Lorenz (co-Marketing Chair) just before the current President David Coleman and the rest of the new leadership was elected at last month’s general membership meeting. They were excited, I was excited. I volunteered a little bit of my time to speak at meetings (and a little more if we managed to implement the ESAD Marketing Web Program). We just needed to come up with a way to pay for it…

Aha. A banner ad program. We came up with a program that would allow the membership to fund the website through sales of 1 banner ad space on their website (around 1024 x 125 pixels). Even the quarterly rate was well under $1 a day.

I figured that, you know, through the year and all – we had a pretty good shot at breaking even…;) I admit it, sometimes I ‘sandbag’ a little.

I spoke last night…I was rusty but I hoped I carried forth the passion I had been infected with by the community of Wildwood (where’s Tim Woerther? lol…) and the Wildwood Business Association in particular.

I closed and the membership almost forgot to vote…rofl…but I’m happy to report it was unanimous in support . We got the laptop out, and ended up paying for over 50% of the cost of the site implementation ON THE SPOT.

Wait. What was that? That’s right. The vote happened a little after 8:00 p.m. We charged the Association literally thousands of dollars for what’s easily verified to be a $10,000 value. 50% of the revenue goal for the year was met by 9:30 p.m.

But wait, it gets better…

I met with my media production and integration guy late last night (who will be joining the WBA and will also be buying a banner ad) – we’re going to be able to have this site up and running by Wednesday so that we can start populating it with content. 21 Days early. Very cool. I owe it to the Association to get it done that quickly for their support.

I had lunch down at WP&G and met with Jeff and firmed up some details for a charity fundraiser we’re co-sponsoring July 6th (more on that later) to benefit the Averi Budde Foundation. Katie sent out a nice e-mail blast discussing the program for the members that couldn’t attend last night, and Kathryn had already was asking me why I hadn’t put a place on the form for a credit card number…lol I stopped in down at the Mikel Garrett Plaza and Amusement Center and saw Mikel who had sent me an e-mail 10 minutes previously and I think is still convinced he was able to summon me that way…ran into Tim in the parking lot on the way to…lol…meet with David – man I love that new “can’t say the name yet” branch…can’t wait to see the new logo next week! There’s poor Gayle…:( I can’t wait until you can take a breath and relax after the big move!

I returned home. The car needed a break…;) I had 2 or 3 people I wanted to see and didn’t get to see…sigh. It was a little before 5, and I needed to check my mail. Another new member also wanting a banner ad – and this was the perfect platform for our favorite charity, the Averi Budde Foundation to introduce the Foundation to and become involved with the WBA – very cool tie in with the fundraiser on July 6th down at Wildwood Pub & Grill.

I skimmed the responses. I did a little math.

Again, I had just charged the Association thousands of dollars for a 21st-Century social network maximized infrastructure for serving both static and dynamic content to its members and everyone in West County (and all over the world).

At 4:50 p.m. on the first day of “operation” of the Wildwood Business Association website, it was officially generating revenue for the Association.

Day 1… Profitable. And we haven’t even built the site…;) There are going to be three new members that I know I’ve enticed to join – maybe even to take advantage of the deal I’m giving all Association members (as of June 15, 2010) on the ESAD Marketing Web Program through June 30, 2010…;)

ESAD Marketing. Creating opportunity – for all – to excel in the 21st Century economy.

We. Make. Shi*. Happen.

Article Marketing? Did I catch that right?

June 2nd, 2010
by admin

Article marketing is one of the easiest ways to make your customers aware of any product or service you offer. It is one of the most overlooked resources that many people should be using to further their reach and spread their message. Here are five reasons why you should be doing this today and the positive benefits that you will find.

1. Backlinks. If you have high-quality, easy-to-consume content on your site, folks are going to link to it. Back links are one of the easiest ways to get your rank increased on search engine result pages. Search engines recognize that, in general, popular sites have more high quality content than unpopular ones. Just like in high school, the popular guy or girl gets more attention.

2. Establishment of YOU as an expert. When you insert high-quality content into your site (written by you or authored by others), it establishes your site as a repository of quality information on your product or service. By achieving this level of expertise you will be able to generate a higher level of trust in your customers, as you appear to be or are the expert. This helps your closure rate and word of mouth helps gain new prospects for your pipeline.

3. Expense. Article marketing is one of the most inexpensive forms of internet marketing, even when outsourced. Marketing and ad campaigns can be costly – producing videos and architecting entire websites around content that you’ve already created can be expensive. Having a blog behind your traditional website and inserting 300-700 word articles is easy and virtually free. If you aren’t an expert in a particular product or service that you offer (something new?), you can always utilize article directories and other methods of outsourcing. Many times folks already have the content on their shelves disguised as “white papers” or brochures – chop it up, turn it into an article, and get it in the blog…it’s now content that is part of your living, breathing web presence.

4. Education. Writing high-quality articles allows the author to re-familiarize themselves with their material. New products and services require research and education to produce quality and informative content from them – take the education you have to do for yourself and turn it into easy to consume nuggets for your customers. They will appreciate learning insights into your product or service, and when they think of that product or service, they will naturally think of you, the expert.

5. Reviews and Testimonials. One of the easiest sources of 300-500 word articles describing your product or service are actual customer reviews and testimonials. These give you a chance to identify the product or service within the article, even providing links back to the product or service they selected. You can offer a link to your customer within these as well, further allowing their web presence to grow along with yours.

The power and public relations benefits of article marketing are very strong. Let us know how we can help you use this untapped stream of prospects for your business!

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – Some facts, tips and information

June 1st, 2010
by admin

True search engine optimization (SEO) is a technique where you create quality content in a certain way so that your website to rank high in search engines. If correctly performed, your website will be found by the right target audience(s) all over.

Since the internet’s inception, search engines like Google, AltaVista, and SearchSight had been driving billions of queries and customers to many e-commerce sites like Amazon, eBay, eCost and Overstock. Compared to many other formes of on- and off-line advertising, search engine marketing is far easier and cheaper – and it’s working for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Companies can connect with the right customers around the globe without the often unneeded hassle of meeting them in person to conduct routine commodity transactions.

SEO once was as simple as “give your page the right title, and stick all of your keywords right HERE.” Unfortunately, as is often the case, less than honest merchants and site builders exploited this “meta” loophole in the definition of a webpage. They over-stuffed certain words, and in many cases shoved words in there that had nothing to do with the content actually present on the page. The search engines realized they couldn’t trust the pages they were indexing implicitly, they had to actually index the sites themselves instead of relying on self-reporting Meta tags.

This article will list some proper SEO methods that you can use to gain targeted traffic from Google, Youtube and Yahoo for free.

1. You must use correct title and description tags. Google and most other search engines will count the keywords in your title to determine relevancy. Therefore, you need to target one long-tail (2 or more words) keyword and insert it in both your title and description.

Example:

meta name=”TITLE” content=”Perfect Sense Publishing Community Resource Directory Home Page” /
meta name=”Description” content=”Perfect Sense Publishing – your resource for Community Directories, Niche Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations” /

2. Continue to use meta keyword tags. Some search engines already ignore meta keywords because they were so abused by webmasters. This does not mean that you should ignore meta keywords altogether. Some search engines still use meta keywords to determine your website relevancy.

Example:

meta name=”Keywords” content=”directory, community directory, perfect sense publishing, perfectsense publishing, publishing, community marketing, marketing, advertising, the directory, perfect sense, perfectsense, niche marketing, niche publication, niche market, publicity, public relations, community data publishing, community resource, resource guide, resource directory” /

3. The website content must match the keywords. You must include the relevant content based on your niche and the specific keywords that you are targeting. While it can increase the keyword density, “keyword stuffing” should be avoided at all cost (e.g., going to the bottom of your page and throwing 500 copies of your keywords down there in white text-on-white background to try to ‘trick’ folks). If you do this, your website may very well be considered as a spam website and will be de-listed from the search engines. Create unique content. It doesn’t have to be the Sistine Chapel, it just has to be easy to consume and relevant.

4. You can also create a search engine-friendly website by adding an XML sitemap. You will want search engines to index your site quickly whenever you add new content. By creating and maintaining a sitemap, search engines will be notified about your new page as soon as possible and this will increase the frequency which they index your site and will drive more traffic to you.

5. Update your website regularly. Search engines love fresh content. Add new content and their spider will crawl your website regularly and this will give impact on your ranking.

Enjoy these tips and let us know if there’s anything we can do to help!

Internet Marketing – the Hobbyist’s View

May 28th, 2010
by admin

Have a hobby tying fly fishing lures?

Put up a website, write a couple articles, make a video, show a few pay-per-click ads, and saturate the internet with content using an ESAD Marketing platform – you’re in business making a couple bucks a day as an expert fly fisherman. Marry that up with an affiliate offer or two from Amazon and Cabela’s…you’re making a few more. Build a list of 500 subscribers in your newsletter, and find them a product that provides them a ton of value (and has a high closure rate), now you’re making a lot more. Grow that list of 500 to 5000 and start making instructional videos.

The cash register keeps on ringing.

If one can capture the attention of 1% of Facebook, and then actually communicate with 1% of those folks – they instantly have 50,000 followers/friends/fans. It’s all simple mathematics. Provide those folks with a product or service that gives them a lot of value and has a closure rate of 5% during the sales cycle, and you now have 2500 customers. I’d tell you what they’re buying, but I don’t know anything about fly fishing…lol

This is the 30,000 foot view of internet marketing in the 21st Century at the 30,000 foot view and how it could help an average Joe in his basement tying fishing lures. The amount of value this sort of thing can provide a network of interconnected organizations (and their websites) is mind-boggling. Each and every node on the network gains from their peers succeeding. Competitors end up helping each other – and it’s all for a good cause in the name of the community.

Our customers realize this vision each and every day. Try on an ESAD Marketing Web Presence today!

Everyone wins.

Blogging With WordPress!

May 27th, 2010
by admin

At the heart of the 2010 ESAD Marketing web program is the WordPress blogging software.

This industry-standard content management system (CMS) allows an organization to quickly and effectively distribute content to many different segments of the market. As a ubiquitous platform for CMS in 2010, WordPress enjoys the support of many third party authors who continually improve and upgrade the functionality within the platform through the use of plug-ins and other automation. WordPress gives ESAD Marketing the ability to weld all parts of the ESAD Marketing web presence together into a tightly integrated solution that works in a lights-out mode.

ESAD maintains a list of 285 blog submission services and loads these into each customer blog, greatly increasing the number of directory services that are notified each time a blog post is made. As an open source product, any investment in the application will not be lost in the future – the software provider can’t go out of business since the code is available to all. It is standard ESAD Marketing practice to select commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS) products in an integrated fashion wherever possible to further mitigate our customers’ risk in deploying new technology.

It is no longer enough to be #1 or #2 on Google for your highest profitable set of keywords. The ESAD Marketing approach allows a literal saturation of content to your consumers. If your consumers are traditional web browser users, they consume your content on the blog. If they like and take advantage of the social networking available within the Facebook environment, they consume your content within the familiar and comfortable interface of Facebook. If they are twitter users, you can deliver content to them whenever and wherever they are. Blog posts are sent to 285 or more blog indices, videos are submitted through 5 or more video submission services. Leverage our networks of thousands of friends on Facebook, in the Blogosphere, and on Twitter. All of this content distribution – initiated by your single solitary blog post – magnifies and intensifies your presence on the web. ESAD Marketing customers with no web presence whatsoever enjoy significant exposure “above the fold” on page 1 of Google searches within days of implementation. Our reference customers are doing business on the web every day in public and we can direct you to many reference sites.
